As Devizes grows, demand for health services increases but the provision of health service has actually been reduced over the last 10 years. Wiltshire Primary Care Trust has recently withdrawn from its proposal to site a Primary Care Centre (PCC) at Quakers Walk and it is not clear whether the provision of a PCC will go ahead.
The Devizes Community Hospital has been stripped of services with the nearest minor injuries unit being in Chippenham or Trowbridge. We understand that a Primary Care Development is going ahead at Westbury. Why are we still waiting for a decision at Devizes while services are deteriorating???
